We Are Opening Our Store Soon
After selling metals exclusively on eBay for some time, Tunnel Rat Treasures will begin the process of migrating to a full store. Started by Jerokiah as a hobby, the passion of the sound money and collectibles market has driven continuous business to the eBay store, causing him to consider ways to make it more feasible to provide continued service in a viable format. The eBay store has pretty substantial fees associated with it, so markup is a bit higher to compensate.
The Tunnel Rat Treasures storefront hosted separately will allow us to offer better pricing at the same value, as well as offering creative new products that would otherwise be very difficult to implement.
Our Direction and Product Line
While we always intend to offer physical sound money products in the form of precious metals, we are also looking forward to providing digital and phygital products in our lineup. In our digital age, there is incredible value in digital ownership. An example of this is blockchain ledgers, introduced with bitcoin, adopted by financial institutions and used by many for NFT’s. Non-Fungible Tokens (NFT) are essentially digital representations of ownership. Combine this with a physical item the NFT is associated with and you have phygital products.
Phygital Products
Our first phygital product, we believe, will fall under the collectible, unique and valuable category. What is it? Our flagship phygital product is a collectible card series. 1) Physical 3D art print with 12 chapters ranging from common to ultra-rare. 2) Each physical print will come with an NFT code for digital ownership. 3) An ultra-rare card will give exclusive access to purchase 1 of 3 silver bars – unique and hand-poured. This is our Gold Rush Chronicles series with a limited mintage of 133 total cards. Purchasing a pack of 3 random cards, much like baseball cards, will randomly generate your cards based on probabilities and available quantities.
Why Phygital
Why phygital? Well, lets say you purchased your cards and want to sell it later, or just want to sell the digital card later. With the NFT, you can trade and sell it on the marketplace like Open Sea. Each card or series will have it’s own market value which will vary based on demand. Those familiar with collecting trading cards understand this concept pretty well already. This is just more ways of doing the same thing.
When Will We Open
We expect to have these phygital cards read soon as printing that many takes time and pouring the metal also takes time. Plus, setting up the backend and workflows is another factor. We should have this series ready in Spring 2026.
